The board has also named Shubman Gill as vice captain. His availability will depend on clearance from the BCCI Centre of Excellence. The series gives India another chance to test its depth ahead of a busy 2026 calendar.

The squad features a mix of young batters and experienced all rounders. Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma keep their spots as the new generation options in the middle order. Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, and Washington Sundar add balance with both bat and ball.

India will go in with two wicketkeepers. Jitesh Sharma brings attacking intent in the lower middle order while Sanju Samson returns as another reliable choice.

The bowling attack has a strong pace and spin mix. Jasprit Bumrah leads the fast bowling group with Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana offering support. Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakaravarthy will handle spin duties along with Axar Patel.
