GT 2026 Retentions: Retained & Released Players List of Gujarat Titans Ahead of IPL 2026 Auction
GT retain core, release Coetzee and Shanaka, and enter the IPL 2026 mini auction with a ₹12.9 crore purse.
Gujarat Titans have held on to their main group of players ahead of the IPL 2026 mini auction. Shubman Gill leads a settled core that includes Rashid Khan, Sai Sudharsan, Mohammed Siraj, and Kagiso Rabada. The management focused on keeping their proven performers after the team slipped in the second half of the 2025 season.
GT kept their batting unit intact. Gill, Sudharsan, Shahrukh Khan, and Rahul Tewatia stay as the middle order backbone. Jos Buttler continues as the frontline wicketkeeper. Glenn Phillips offers both power hitting and spin, giving the team flexibility.
The bowling unit remains one of GT’s biggest strengths. Rashid Khan heads the spin attack with support from Sai Kishore, Jayant Yadav, Manav Suthar, and Washington Sundar. The pace group features Rabada, Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Ishant Sharma, Arshad Khan, and Gurnoor Brar.
On the released list, Gerald Coetzee and Dasun Shanaka stand out. Both had a quiet 2025 season and their exits create space for new overseas signings. Karim Janat, Mahipal Lomror, and Kulwant Khejroliya were also let go as part of the clean up.
GT made just one trade. Sherfane Rutherford was moved to the Mumbai Indians for ₹2.6 crore. The team chose not to bring in any players during the window and will use the auction to plug remaining gaps.
With ₹12.9 crore in hand, GT have enough room for two key signings and a few backups. The management is expected to target a finishing all rounder and an extra fast bowler to boost depth.
