Tom Moody Joins Lucknow Super Giants Ahead of IPL 2026
Former SRH coach Tom Moody joins Lucknow Super Giants as Global Director of Cricket ahead of IPL 2026, replacing Zaheer Khan.
Lucknow Super Giants have pulled off a big signing ahead of IPL 2026. As per reports, the franchise has roped in former Sunrisers Hyderabad coach Tom Moody as their new Global Director of Cricket.
The Australian veteran will oversee all cricket operations under the RPSG Group, including Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL, Durban’s Super Giants in SA20, and their Hundred team in Manchester.
Moody, who turned 60 last month, is one of the most respected cricket minds in the world. Known for building strong, consistent teams, he recently guided the Oval Invincibles to their third straight title in The Hundred.
However, ESPN Cricinfo reported that he has now chosen to take up the Lucknow role, which offers him a larger global responsibility.
For IPL fans, Moody’s name is a familiar one. He was the man behind Sunrisers Hyderabad’s golden run, helping them lift the IPL trophy in 2016 and making the playoffs in several other seasons.
At LSG, Moody will replace Zaheer Khan, who served as the franchise’s Global Director for just one season before parting ways in September 2025. His appointment marks the beginning of what is expected to be a major reset for the Lucknow-based side.
