“Drama Karega” – Ramiz Raja Mocks Babar Azam Live On Air – Forget Mic Is On
Ramiz Raja’s mic caught him calling Babar Azam a “drama” during live commentary, sparking outrage among Pakistan fans.
A big controversy erupted on Day 1 of the Pakistan–South Africa Test in Lahore after former PCB chairman Ramiz Raja was caught making an insulting comment about Babar Azam on live television.
The incident took place at the Gaddafi Stadium when Babar was batting on just one. South Africa’s Senuran Muthusamy appealed for a caught-behind dismissal, and the umpire raised his finger.
As Babar reviewed the decision, Ramiz, part of the commentary panel, was overheard saying, “Yeh out hai, ab yeh drama karega.” His mic was supposed to be off, but the remark went live on air.
To make it more awkward for Raja, the replay clearly showed no edge, and Babar was given not out. Social media was quick to pick up the clip, with fans calling out Ramiz for disrespecting one of Pakistan’s biggest stars.
Babar’s struggle continues
Despite surviving that DRS call, Babar’s innings didn’t last long. He managed just 23 off 48 balls before being dismissed by Simon Harmer.
Pakistan, after a strong start from Imam-ul-Haq and Shan Masood, who added 161 runs for the second wicket, collapsed from 163 for 1 to 199 for 5.
However, Mohammad Rizwan and Agha Salman steadied things, ending the day unbeaten on 62 and 52 respectively, taking Pakistan to 313 for 5 at stumps.
