Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir is planning a special evening for the team ahead of the second Test against the West Indies in New Delhi. The dinner will be held at Gambhir’s residence on October 8 after the team’s practice session at Arun Jaitley Stadium.
The move comes as a warm gesture from Gambhir, who is hosting the squad in his hometown. India had a commanding win in the series opener, defeating the West Indies by an innings and 140 runs. The team now prepares for the second Test before heading to Australia for the ODI and T20I series.
Players have had a busy schedule recently. Following India’s Asia Cup 2025 victory, some had to immediately join the Test squad. The dinner at Gambhir’s home is expected to offer a relaxed environment for the team to bond before their next challenge.
Shubman Gill is now leading India in both Tests and ODIs, taking over the fifty-over captaincy from Rohit Sharma. While Rohit and Virat Kohli are included in the squad, their spots will depend on performance. Suryakumar Yadav continues to captain the T20I side.
