Shreyas Iyer made a stunning comeback for India A, scoring 110 off just 83 balls against Australia A in the first unofficial ODI at Green Park Stadium, Kanpur. The innings came as India A piled on the runs under his captaincy.
Batting at number three, Shreyas joined after a quick start from openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh. He got a slice of luck early when he was dropped by wicketkeeper Lachlan Shaw off Tanveer Sangha but made sure to make the most of it.
The century-packed innings featured 11 fours and four sixes. Shreyas reached his fifty in 50 balls and completed his century in 75 balls, dominating Sam Elliott’s bowling. He eventually fell for 110 in the 47th over to Liam Scott.
The first unofficial ODI was delayed by a day due to rain. Shreyas, who had taken a break from red-ball cricket to manage a back injury, will lead India A across all three matches of the series.
