“We Don’t Care” – Salman Agha on Suryakumar Yadav Skipping Captains’ Photoshoot
Salman Agha stays calm as Suryakumar Yadav skips Asia Cup captain photoshoot, focusing on final win.
Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha has addressed reports that India’s Suryakumar Yadav will skip the pre-final captain’s photoshoot ahead of the Asia Cup final. Agha said he is not bothered and confirmed Pakistan will follow the Asian Cricket Council protocol.
“They can do whatever they want, we will just follow the protocol. The rest is up to them – if they want to come, they come, and if they don’t, we can’t do anything,” Agha told reporters on Saturday.
He insisted that the team is focused solely on cricket and the goal of winning the final.
“We don’t focus on what we can’t control. Media talk, outside noise, we ignore it. Our goal is the Asia Cup. We came here to play good cricket, and tomorrow we’ll aim to win the final,” he added.
India-Pakistan Rivalry Still Strong
The tension between India and Pakistan has been noticeable throughout the tournament. India made headlines by refusing the traditional handshake with Pakistan players at the toss and after their previous matches.
Both league and Super Four stages saw heated exchanges and lively celebrations, further intensifying the rivalry.
India has dominated Pakistan in both meetings so far, with opener Abhishek Sharma and spinner Varun Chakravarthy leading the charge. After the Super Four clash, Suryakumar Yadav hinted that the rivalry is less intense given India’s strong recent record.
Agha, however, said the pressure in India-Pakistan games is always high.
“Yes, Pakistan-India games always carry pressure. If I say otherwise, it would be wrong. But the truth is, we made more mistakes than them, which is why we lost. In these games, the team that makes fewer mistakes usually wins. Tomorrow, our goal is to reduce mistakes,” he said.
