Suryakumar Yadav’s India chased down 172 with seven balls to spare in Dubai, thanks to Abhishek Sharma’s blazing 74 off 39 balls.

Despite fiery exchanges from Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf, Pakistan’s bowlers once again failed to deliver as India secured a six-wicket win in the Super 4 clash.

Speaking from jail, Imran mocked the state of Pakistan cricket. According to his sister Aleema Khan, the 1992 World Cup-winning captain quipped that Pakistan could only beat India if PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi and Army Chief Asim Munir walked out to open the batting.

He did not stop there. Imran added that for Pakistan to win, former Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa and Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja would need to act as on-field umpires, while Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar should be the third umpire.

Imran has often accused Naqvi of “destroying” Pakistan cricket with incompetence and nepotism, and also hit out at Asim Munir for allegedly stealing PTI’s mandate in the 2024 elections. The former prime minister has been in jail since August 2023 in multiple cases.

With their campaign on the line, Pakistan now face Sri Lanka in a must-win game at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on September 23.
