IND vs PAK: Suryakumar Yadav Blasts Pakistan in Press-Conference After 6-Wicket Victory
Suryakumar Yadav says India-Pakistan is not a rivalry anymore after India’s Asia Cup 2025 win.
India continued their dominance over Pakistan in the Asia Cup, beating their arch-rivals by six wickets in the Super Four clash on Sunday.
Opener Abhishek Sharma led the chase with 74 runs, putting on a 105-run opening stand with Shubman Gill as India chased 172 with seven balls to spare.
After the match, India captain Suryakumar Yadav made a blunt statement about the long-standing India-Pakistan rivalry.
“You guys should stop asking questions about the rivalry between India-Pakistan. According to me, if two teams play 15-20 matches, and if it is even, then it is a rivalry. 10-0, 10-1, I don’t know what the stat is, but this is not a rivalry anymore,” he said, referring to India’s dominant T20I record of 12 wins against Pakistan’s 3.

The contest was played under tense conditions following the handshake controversy in their previous meeting.
Yadav, however, kept the focus on cricket. He praised the team’s overall performance, saying India played better both with the bat and ball.
Fielding mistakes early in Pakistan’s innings caused some jitters, but Yadav joked about it, saying, “I think the fielding coach has already emailed players whose hands had some butter on them. It’s good this happened early because we have more crucial games coming.”
On the bowling front, Shivam Dube’s spell turned the game in India’s favour. Dube picked key wickets, including Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub, slowing down the scoring rate.
