India extended their winning run in the Asia Cup 2025 with a comfortable seven-wicket victory over Pakistan at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.
Batting first, Pakistan never looked settled and ended at 127 for 9 in their 20 overs. Hardik Pandya struck with the very first ball to dismiss Saim Ayub for a golden duck. Jasprit Bumrah followed up with the wicket of Mohammad Haris.
From there, India’s spinners took control. Kuldeep Yadav was the standout with figures of 3 for 18, while Axar Patel picked up two. Shaheen Afridi provided late fireworks with 33 off 16 balls, but Pakistan’s innings never got momentum.
India’s chase was steady and assured. Abhishek Sharma gave them a blazing start with 31 from just 13 balls, hammering four fours and two sixes. Suryakumar Yadav then anchored the innings with an unbeaten 47 off 37 balls, supported well by Tilak Varma, who scored 31.
Despite Saim Ayub’s three wickets with the ball, Pakistan never threatened to turn the game around. India reached the target in just 15.5 overs at 131 for 3, sealing a dominant seven-wicket win over their arch-rivals.
