IND vs PAK: Kuldeep Yadav Breaks Record, Produces Greatest Spin Spell In T20I Rivalry
Kuldeep Yadav takes 3/18 to record best-ever spell by a spinner in India vs Pakistan T20Is, surpassing Mohammad Nawaz.
India’s Kuldeep Yadav continued his golden run in the Asia Cup 2025, this time making history in the high-pressure clash against Pakistan at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.
Batting first, Pakistan collapsed to 127 for 9 after losing wickets at regular intervals. Hardik Pandya struck with the first ball of the innings, while Jasprit Bumrah removed Mohammad Haris.
But once the spinners came on, India’s grip tightened further. Axar Patel bagged two wickets, while Kuldeep Yadav stole the show with three scalps.
Kuldeep Surpasses Nawaz’s Record
Kuldeep finished with figures of 3 for 18 in his four overs, now the best-ever spell by a spinner in T20Is between India and Pakistan. He went past Pakistan’s Mohammad Nawaz, who had claimed 3 for 33 at the same venue in the 2022 Asia Cup.
Best Bowling Figures by Spinners in India-Pakistan T20Is:
- Kuldeep Yadav: 3/18
- Mohammad Nawaz: 3/33
- Ravindra Jadeja: 2/11
- R Ashwin: 2/16

Dream Tournament for Kuldeep
Kuldeep has now picked up seven wickets in the Asia Cup. Earlier against UAE, he grabbed four wickets in just 13 balls, registering the fastest four-wicket haul in T20Is. Against Pakistan too, he struck twice in successive balls and was on a hat-trick.
Pakistan never recovered from the early blows and were restricted to 127 for 9 in their 20 overs. India now need 128 runs to secure their second straight win in the tournament.
