IND vs PAK: Sahibzada Farhan Creates Massive Six-Hitting Record Against Jasprit Bumrah
Sahibzada Farhan hits two sixes off Jasprit Bumrah, but Pakistan collapse to 127-9 against India in Asia Cup 2025.
Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan created a rare record in Dubai on Sunday during the Asia Cup 2025 clash against India. The right-hander became the first Pakistani batter to hit a six against Jasprit Bumrah in T20 internationals.
Farhan struck two sixes off Bumrah in the early overs, both on the third ball of the fourth and sixth over. Before this game, Bumrah had never been hit for a six in four T20I matches against Pakistan.
Farhan, however, changed that history. He scored 40 runs from 44 balls with one four and three sixes before falling to Kuldeep Yadav.
Pakistan’s Batting Struggles Again
The rest of Pakistan’s batting failed to support Farhan. Their innings got off to the worst possible start when Saim Ayub was dismissed for a golden duck on the very first legitimate ball of the match.
Hardik Pandya claimed that wicket, becoming only the second Indian bowler after Arshdeep Singh to strike on his very first ball in T20Is.
Captain Salman Ali Agha also disappointed, managing only 3 runs from 12 balls before falling to Axar Patel. Mohammad Haris, Hasan Nawaz, and Mohammad Nawaz all failed to make an impact.
Kuldeep Yadav continued his brilliant form, picking two wickets in two balls by removing Hasan Nawaz and trapping Mohammad Nawaz lbw.
Shaheen’s Late Fightback not Enough
Shaheen Afridi provided late fireworks, smashing 33 runs from just 16 balls with four sixes. Sufiyan Muqeem also chipped in with a quick 10. But apart from Farhan and Shaheen, no other batter could cross 20.
India’s bowlers were clinical once again. Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the lot, finishing with 3 for 18 in his four overs.
Bumrah and Axar Patel picked up two wickets each, while Varun Chakaravarthy and Hardik Pandya bagged one apiece.
Pakistan eventually finished at 127 for 9 in their 20 overs, leaving India with a comfortable chase ahead in Dubai.
