Under head coach Gautam Gambhir, the Indian players are going through one of the most demanding fitness routines in recent times. The Bronco Test, which measures endurance and stamina, was among the key challenges. According to a PTI report, Arshdeep looked the sharpest, leaving behind Bumrah and Rana in the results.

The BCCI usually keeps these numbers confidential, but sources suggest that Arshdeep stood out as the fittest bowler heading into the tournament. His effort has given India a major boost, considering his role with the new ball in the Asia Cup.

What is the Bronco Test?

The Bronco Test is a running-based endurance test, originally used in football and rugby. It requires players to complete five sets of shuttle runs over 20, 40, and 60 meters, adding up to 1200 meters in a set timeframe. The BCCI introduced it into cricket after the England Test series to push players to higher fitness levels.

All Players Pass BCCI’s Fitness Drills

Along with the Bronco Test, the Yo-Yo Test was also conducted for the squad. Reports suggest that every Asia Cup-bound player managed to clear the fitness drills, either fully or partially.

The sessions were overseen by the BCCI’s strength and conditioning staff, ensuring that all players reached the standard required for selection.
