Ticket sales began on Thursday with a four-day pre-sale. Fans can buy tickets for all matches in India and Sri Lanka through Google Pay on the official website Tickets.cricketworldcup.com. The pre-sale runs until September 8.

General sales will open on September 9 at 8 PM IST. The move is part of the ICC’s exclusive partnership with Google to boost fan engagement in women’s cricket.

This step is aimed at filling stadiums and making the sport more accessible. In the 2022 Women’s World Cup in New Zealand, ticket prices were much higher, with children’s tickets at NZD 7 and adult tickets at NZD 17, nearly eight times costlier than the new rates.

The tournament will begin with an opening ceremony in Guwahati on September 30. Singer Shreya Ghoshal will perform live and also present the official anthem titled Bring it Home. The first match will see co-hosts India face Sri Lanka.

Eight teams will take part in the event. They are India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand, Bangladesh, England and South Africa.

The ICC has also confirmed a prize pool of 13.88 million USD for the tournament, which is almost four times the amount awarded in 2022.
