“Not Watched Any Cricket After England Tests” – Gautam Gambhir
Gautam Gambhir admits he hasn’t watched cricket since England series, mentions Virat Kohli in rapid-fire before Asia Cup 2025.
With just a week left for the Asia Cup 2025, Indian fans are eagerly waiting for the action to resume after what has been a dull fortnight with very little international cricket to follow.
The Asia Cup is set to kickstart on September 5, marking the beginning of a jam-packed season for Team India that will run all the way till the T20 World Cup.
Even head coach Gautam Gambhir has been enjoying some rare time off before diving into preparations. Speaking at the final of the Delhi Premier League, Gambhir admitted that he has barely followed the sport in recent weeks.
“I’ve been at home and I haven’t watched a lot of cricket, but it’s a great platform for a lot of these boys who can showcase their talent. And DPL has done a fantastic job of giving such kind of a platform to so many players,” Gambhir said.
The former India opener also stressed on Delhi’s cricketing depth, saying, “I think there will never be a shortage of talent in Delhi, because a lot of kids play here and the local competitions are really tough. Delhi has so much to offer, not only for Delhi cricket, but also for Indian cricket.”
But Gambhir’s comments didn’t stop there. In a fun rapid-fire round, he was asked to associate cricketers with certain terms, and the results sparked fan chatter.
