[Watch] Nitish Rana, Digvesh Rathi Engages in Ugly Fight During DPL 2025 Eliminator Match

Nitish Rana lit up the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Friday with a blistering knock of 134* off 55 balls, guiding West Delhi Lions to a seven-wicket win over South Delhi Superstarz in the Eliminator of the Delhi Premier League 2025.

But his innings was not just about the runs, it also sparked a heated face-off with wrist-spinner Digvesh Rathi that grabbed as much attention as the match itself.

The flashpoint came in Rathi’s very first over when Nitish smashed him for a boundary followed by three consecutive sixes. After the third six, the southpaw was seen exchanging words with the bowler before mimicking Rathi’s signature bat-sign celebration, adding fuel to the fire.

Visibly annoyed, Rathi responded with remarks of his own, which didn’t sit well with the Lions skipper. Nitish charged towards him angrily, forcing teammates and umpires to intervene before the situation escalated further.

The duel only intensified in Rathi’s next over as Nitish continued the onslaught, hammering him for two more sixes and a four. The wrist-spinner finished with expensive figures of 0/39 in two overs, while Nitish powered his way to a 20-ball fifty and a 42-ball hundred. His innings, studded with eight fours and 15 sixes, ensured West Delhi chased down 202 in just 17.1 overs.

With this emphatic win, West Delhi Lions advanced to Qualifier 2, where they will face East Delhi Riders on Saturday, August 30. Under Tejasvi Dahiya’s leadership, the Lions will look to carry forward their momentum and secure a place in the final.
