‘Don’t Cross The Line’ – Wasim Akram’s Big Warning Ahead Of India vs Pakistan Clash

As India and Pakistan gear up for their Asia Cup 2025 clash in Dubai, legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram has urged both fans and players to keep the contest within limits.

The high-stakes encounter is set for September 14 and, as always, is expected to draw global attention.

“I am sure the matches will be entertaining like the other India-Pakistan contests in the past. I hope the players and fans will not cross the line,” Akram told Telecom Asia Sport.

Akram admitted that emotions will run high, but he hopes to see the game remembered for cricketing brilliance rather than controversies. “India and Pakistan fans are patriotic and want to see their teams winning the game,” he said.

India Favourites, But Pressure Will Decide

Akram called India favourites heading into the contest, given their recent form, but stressed that handling pressure will be key.

“India have been in good form, but the team that handles pressure better on the day will win,” he pointed out.

The two neighbours have not played a bilateral series since 2013, meeting only in ICC tournaments and the Asia Cup. While political tensions keep bilateral cricket on hold, Akram expressed hope that fans could one day witness a Test series again.

“The Asia Cup will be enjoyed by fans. It is my wish that India and Pakistan also start playing Test cricket. It is going to be a big moment for fans,” he said.
