UP T20 League: Rinku Singh Back in Form Ahead of Asia Cup 2025, Smashes 48-ball 108 to Power Meerut Mavericks to Victory
Rinku Singh’s blazing 108* leads Meerut Mavericks to a six-wicket win, a big boost ahead of Asia Cup 2025.
Meerut Mavericks captain Rinku Singh smashed a breathtaking century to guide his team to a six-wicket win over Gorakhpur Lions in the UP T20 League 2025.
Chasing 168, the Mavericks were in trouble at 38 for 4 inside eight overs. The top order collapsed, and the chase looked tough. That is when captain Rinku Singh walked in and completely changed the game.
He played fearless cricket, punishing every bowler who dared to bowl short or full. Rinku raced to his hundred in just 45 balls and finished unbeaten on 108 from 48 deliveries, with 7 fours and 8 sixes. His strike rate was a staggering 225, showing why he is rated one of the most dangerous finishers in Indian cricket.
On the other end, Sahab Yuvraj gave him steady support with an unbeaten 22 off 22 balls. The pair added 130 runs for the fifth wicket, making sure the Mavericks crossed the target with seven balls to spare.
Earlier, Gorakhpur Lions posted 167 for 9. Dhruv Jurel scored 38 and Nishant Kushwaha added 37, but their side kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Meerut’s bowlers, led by Vishal Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar, both taking three wickets each, made sure the total was chaseable.
But the night was all about Rinku Singh. His innings was not just about power, it was about responsibility too. He came when the Mavericks were sinking and finished the job with authority.
With this knock, Rinku has once again reminded fans of his finishing skills. And the timing could not be better. He has already been picked in India’s squad for the Asia Cup 2025, and such innings will only boost his confidence. For Team India, this is very good news before the big tournament.
