[Watch] Sai Sudharsan Loses Cool After Ben Duckett’s Sledge During IND vs ENG

India’s Sai Sudharsan confronts Ben Duckett after being sledged post-DRS dismissal in 5th Test at The Oval

Tensions boiled over on Day 3 of the ongoing fifth Test between India and England at The Oval when a rare on-field confrontation unfolded involving India’s young batter Sai Sudharsan.

Known for his calm and composed nature, the 23-year-old lost his cool after being dismissed in the second innings, and a remark from England’s Ben Duckett seemed to be the trigger.

Heated Moment After DRS Dismissal

On the second ball of the 18th over, Gus Atkinson trapped Sudharsan in front of the stumps. Umpire’s finger went up, and after a long chat with Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sudharsan opted for a review. The DRS showed three reds, confirming the on-field decision.

As Sudharsan began walking back, he appeared to be on the receiving end of a remark from the England huddle.

The southpaw turned back and walked toward the group of players, clearly not pleased. Reports suggest Ben Duckett may have been the one to poke fun at the young Indian, prompting Sudharsan’s reaction.

The left-hander exchanged a few words before England’s Harry Brook quickly stepped in to calm things down and encouraged Sudharsan to return to the dressing room.

A Disappointing End to the Series for Sai

Sudharsan, who made his debut in the first Test of the series, hasn’t quite lived up to expectations with the bat. He scored a duck and 30 runs in his debut match before being dropped.

After Karun Nair struggled with form, the team management brought Sai back for the fourth Test, where he impressed with a composed fifty.

However, he couldn’t build on that momentum. His second-innings duck in the fourth Test drew some criticism, and in the ongoing fifth Test, he fell for 49, just short of a half-century.
