Bharat Arun to Join CSK as Bowling Coach? Report Sparks Buzz Ahead of IPL 2026
Bharat Arun is likely to part ways with KKR.
After a disastrous IPL 2025 campaign, Chennai Super Kings are set to ring in some big changes, not just in their playing XI but also within the support staff.
As per The Times of India, former Team India bowling coach Bharat Arun is likely to join CSK for the 2026 season, replacing Eric Simons.
CSK finished rock bottom this year, managing just four wins in 14 matches. Injuries, frequent changes, and inconsistent performances left the five-time champions with more questions than answers.
Arun Set to Leave KKR
Bharat Arun, who has been with Kolkata Knight Riders since 2022, is believed to have parted ways with the franchise on mutual terms.
While KKR have officially announced head coach Chandrakant Pandit’s exit, they haven’t confirmed Arun’s departure yet.
CSK, on the other hand, have denied any official talks but a move is reportedly in the pipeline.
If it goes through, Arun will reunite with a number of Indian bowlers he previously worked with during his tenure as India’s bowling coach from 2017 to 2021, a period during which India’s fast-bowling unit peaked.
At KKR, Arun played a key role in the rise of Harshit Rana and Vaibhav Arora. Both turned into frontline performers under his guidance, with Harshit even earning an India call-up.
