RCB Flashbacks? AB de Villiers Hits 116 at Age 41 in WCL 2025
AB de Villiers smashes 41-ball hundred at age 41 in WCL 2025, leads SA to 10-wicket win over England.
Age is just a number for AB de Villiers.
The South African legend smashed an unbelievable hundred off just 41 balls in the World Championship of Legends 2025.
Playing for South Africa Champions, the 41-year-old opened the innings and made 116 not out from just 51 balls. He took the England Champions bowlers to the cleaners in Leicester.
Chasing 153, de Villiers and Hashim Amla made it look like a walk in the park. The pair put on an unbeaten 153-run stand and finished the game in just 12.3 overs. South Africa Champions won by 10 wickets.
AB still batting like it’s IPL 2016
De Villiers cracked 15 fours and 7 sixes. It was vintage AB, showing no signs of age or rust. He hadn’t played competitive cricket in nearly four years, but that didn’t stop him from dominating. Fans at the ground and online were left stunned by how fluent and fearless he looked.
On the other end, Amla played a calm knock of 29 not out off 25 balls. But the day clearly belonged to Mr. 360.
Earlier, England Champions posted 152 for 6. Phil Mustard top-scored with 39. Wayne Parnell and Imran Tahir took two wickets each for the Proteas.
AB de Villiers might have retired years ago, but if this innings is anything to go by, the RCB superstar still has fire in his bat.
