India Women started their ODI series in style with a solid 4-wicket win over England Women at The Rose Bowl in Southampton. With this win, India now lead the 3-match ODI series 1-0.
England Set a Target of 258
England won the toss and chose to bat first. Kranti Goud gave India an early boost by removing Amy Jones and Tammy Beaumont cheaply.
Emma Lamb and Nat Sciver-Brunt steadied things with a 71-run partnership, but both were dismissed in quick succession by Sneh Rana.
Sophie Dunkley and Alice Davidson-Richards added 106 runs for the fifth wicket. Dunkley top-scored with a fine 83 off 92 balls, hitting 9 boundaries. England finished on 258 for 6 in 50 overs.
Sneh Rana was the most effective bowler, taking 2 wickets for just 31 runs in her full quota of 10 overs.

India’s chase began well with Smriti Mandhana and debutant Pratika Rawal adding 48 runs for the first wicket. Mandhana made 28 while Rawal impressed with 36.
India lost a few quick wickets and were 124 for 4 in the 28th over. But Jemimah Rodrigues and Deepti Sharma steadied the innings with a crucial 90-run stand.
Rodrigues made a steady 48 off 54 balls. Deepti remained unbeaten with a composed 62 from 64 balls. Amanjot Kaur played a handy cameo, scoring 20 not out off just 14 balls to finish the chase.
India reached the target in 48.2 overs with four wickets in hand. This win adds to India’s momentum after their recent 3-2 series win in the T20Is.
