Day 1 of the third Test between India and England at Lord’s saw some old-school batting and fiery banter, especially from India pacer Mohammed Siraj.
As England went into defensive mode, Siraj couldn’t help but tease Joe Root for not playing the aggressive “Bazball” style.
Siraj vs Root: A Bazball Banter
The second session saw England batters Joe Root and Ollie Pope drop anchor, playing out a long stretch without many attacking shots. India’s fielders were sharp, and the bowlers stuck to tight lines. But the highlight of the session came from Siraj, who clearly expected more firepower from England.
In a video shared by the broadcasters, Siraj was heard asking Root, “Where’s the Bazball?”—not once, but twice. He even gestured after the delivery, adding spice to the moment before returning to his run-up.
Siraj didn’t stop there. “Baz Baz Bazball. Come on! I want to see,” he added, keeping the pressure on the English batters and trying to unsettle them.
