IND vs ENG: Yashasvi Jaiswal Joins Dravid and Sehwag in Test Record – Only 3 Indians Ever Did This

Yashasvi Jaiswal equals Dravid and Sehwag’s record by scoring 2000 Test runs in just 40 innings during the England Test.

Yashasvi Jaiswal is making big moves in Test cricket. On July 4, during the second Test against England at Edgbaston, he reached 2000 Test runs. He became the joint-fastest Indian to do so, in just 40 innings.

Only two other Indian batters have achieved this milestone so quickly, Rahul Dravid and Virender Sehwag. Now, Jaiswal’s name stands with theirs. It’s a proud moment for the young opener and for Indian cricket.

Jaiswal’s start in Test cricket has been like a dream. He scored 1903 runs in his first 20 Tests. His average was 52.86, and he had already hit five centuries and ten fifties. He’s not just consistent, but aggressive too.

In the Edgbaston Test, Jaiswal looked set for another hundred. He was batting on 87 and was in full control. But then, in an unlucky moment, he edged a delivery from Ben Stokes to the keeper, Jamie Smith. That ended his fine knock.

In the second innings, Jaiswal came out with intent. He hit eight boundaries in his 22-ball stay and scored a quick 28. But once again, his innings was cut short before he could build something bigger.

Still, the bigger story is about his record. Reaching 2000 runs in 40 innings puts him in elite company. At just 22 years old, Jaiswal is already showing signs of becoming one of India’s next big Test stars.
