“Ready to Comeback” – Rohit Sharma’s ‘Special’ Advice That Changed Prithvi Shaw’s Mindset
Prithvi Shaw revealed that Rohit Sharma gave him crucial advice during the domestic season on how to make a strong comeback.

Prithvi Shaw was once called the next big star of Indian cricket. He made headlines as a teenager and was compared to legends.
But now, at just 25, Shaw finds himself away from the national team, ignored by IPL franchises, and fighting fitness issues.
Shaw has not given up. After facing back-to-back snubs, he is still trying to come back stronger. Recently, he revealed that during the domestic season, he had a chat with Rohit Sharma.
“I met Rohit Sharma during Domestics, he advised me how to make a solid comeback,” Shaw said in an interview with News24 Sports.
Ranji Snub, IPL Rejection & Fight To Return
Earlier this year, Shaw was not picked in Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy squad. Reports said his fitness was the main reason.
He was asked to train under Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) coaches and lose some weight. He accepted the challenge and worked hard on his fitness.
Still, he wasn’t picked for the Vijay Hazare Trophy either. Frustrated, Shaw shared his disappointment online but also promised to make a strong comeback.
Not Big Numbers, But Not Giving Up
Shaw played the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and scored 197 runs in nine games. His strike rate was good, but the runs were not enough to attract selectors.
In the Mumbai T20 League, he played five games and scored 137 runs. He also scored a 74-run knock against Eagle Thane Strikers, which reminded fans of his old form. But the biggest blow came in the IPL 2025 auction.
Shaw had a base price of ₹75 lakh, but no team bid for him. Even when teams were short on players during the season, Shaw didn’t get a call.
Shaw has now requested an NOC from the Mumbai Cricket Association. He wants to play for another team and restart his domestic career.
