IPL Final Pressure? Shreyas Iyer Reveals He Couldn’t Sleep After Qualifier Win

Shreyas Iyer said he could barely sleep after Qualifier 2 due to the hectic IPL schedule before the big final.

The IPL 2025 final is just around the corner, and fans are eagerly waiting to see a new team lift the trophy. Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru are ready to battle it out in Ahmedabad on June 3.

Shreyas Iyer Talks About Exhaustion Before Final

Punjab Kings skipper Shreyas Iyer has revealed that the tight IPL schedule is taking a toll on him. Just after winning Qualifier 2 against Mumbai Indians, Iyer admitted that he hardly slept due to the quick turnaround between matches.

“I couldn’t sleep. I hardly had four hours of sleep, and I am here. I went to my room. And then the next thing I know, I am here doing the PC,” he said while addressing the media.

Shreyas Iyer Reflects On His Best Knock

In the high-pressure game against Mumbai Indians, Iyer played a captain’s knock. He scored an unbeaten 87 and built a crucial 84-run partnership with Nehal Wadhera. His knock was the second-best of this IPL season, only behind David Warner.

Calling it his best-ever IPL innings, Iyer said, “Top most knock I have played in IPL.”

Punjab Ready For Revenge Against RCB

After losing to RCB in Qualifier 1, Punjab Kings will now get one more chance to beat them — this time in the final. With both teams eyeing their first IPL title, the stage is set for a thrilling finish to IPL 2025.

The final takes place on June 3 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
