IPL 2025 Revised Schedule Live Updates: BCCI Set to Announce Decision Today, Final Likely Postponed
IPL 2025 set to resume this week pending govt approval, revised schedule expected Monday, with 16 matches remaining

IPL 2025 Revised Schedule Live Updates: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is working to resume IPL 2025 by the end of this week, following the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan. The high-stakes tournament was suspended after the PBKS vs DC match was abandoned due to air raid alerts near Dharamsala, triggering a week-long pause.
According to BCCI officials, franchises have been instructed to reassemble their squads at home bases by Tuesday, with preparations underway for a revised schedule, likely to be announced on Monday after meetings with all stakeholders.
“Given the importance of IPL at this juncture, it will also be prudent and necessary to take the nod of the Government of India before finalising the time for its restart,” a senior BCCI official stated.
“As of now there is no decision on IPL. BCCI officials are working out on the solutions. BCCI secretary, IPL Chairman are in talks with franchises and everyone, so very soon we will know about the decision, efforts are being made to resume the tournament early,” said Rajeev Shukla.
Revised Venues and Format
The remaining 16 matches including 12 league games and 4 playoff encounters are expected to be played across Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Lucknow.
Cities like Dharamsala, Chandigarh, Delhi, Jaipur, and Mumbai are likely to be dropped from the venue list due to ongoing security assessments and logistical challenges.
To accommodate the lost week, the final may be pushed from May 25 to May 30, with additional double-headers being scheduled to ensure the tournament concludes in time.
Points Table Snapshot
Before the suspension, Gujarat Titans led the table with 16 points, narrowly ahead of RCB on net run rate. Punjab Kings (15), Mumbai Indians (14), Delhi Capitals (13), KKR (11), and Lucknow Super Giants (10) remain in playoff contention. Meanwhile, CSK, SRH, and Rajasthan Royals have been eliminated from the race.
Awaiting Final Approval
Though internal planning is well underway, the final resumption plan awaits approval from the Government of India, given the heightened sensitivity surrounding national security and player safety.
The BCCI is expected to finalize and announce full details early in the week as dialogue continues with broadcasters, state authorities, and franchise owners.
