“Doesn’t He Have Brains?” Kris Srikkanth Slams LSG Over Rishabh Pant’s Batting Position

Kris Srikkanth slammed LSG management for sending Rishabh Pant to bat at number seven, calling it a brainless move.

Rishabh Pant’s poor form with the bat in IPL 2025 has become a big concern for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). In nine innings so far, Pant has scored only 110 runs. His average is just 12.22, and his strike rate is below 100.

Interestingly, out of those 110 runs, 63 came in a single game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Lucknow. In the other matches, he has struggled badly. Things got even more confusing when Pant came out to bat at number seven in LSG’s game against Delhi Capitals. He arrived in the last over and got out for a two-ball duck.

Kris Srikkanth Questions LSG’s Move

Former India cricketer Kris Srikkanth has slammed the LSG management for this strange move. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Srikkanth questioned why Pant batted so low.

“Why did he come to bat for just two balls? What’s the team management trying to do? Everybody’s sitting there. Langer is also there. Doesn’t he have brains?” Srikkanth said.

Pant returned to his usual number four position in LSG’s next match against Mumbai Indians. But he failed again, scoring just four runs off two balls. LSG went on to lose that match by a huge margin of 54 runs at Wankhede Stadium.

Apart from his batting troubles, Pant has also had an up-and-down season as LSG captain. Under him, the team has won five matches and lost five out of their 10 games. They are currently placed sixth in the IPL 2025 points table.

LSG will now face Punjab Kings on Sunday, May 4, in Dharamsala.
