Babar Azam to Take Legal Action Against Ahmed Shehzad for Defamation During T20 World Cup 2024

Babar Azam pursues legal action against Ahmed Shehzad for defamatory acts during T20 World Cup.

Pakistan captain Babar Azam is likely to take legal action against YouTubers and former cricketers who accused him of ‘misconduct’ during the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024.

Notably, Babar Azam was under immense scrutiny during the World Cup, as he was constantly being targeted by former cricketers and YouTubers, which Geo News reported were paid campaigns against him.

Ahmed Shehzad, the Pakistan cricketer, was one of the critics who constantly slammed Babar Azam throughout the tournament. It was not just the Pakistan captain; Shahzad had also questioned the Pakistan Cricket Board and its chief.

Pakistan ended their campaign with a three-wicket win over Ireland in Florida on Sunday, a dead rubber after India and the USA, from Group A, advanced to the Super 8 stage.

While some of the Pakistan cricket team has returned to the country, some players, including the captain Babar Azam, Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan, and fast bowler Haris Rauf, remained in London for a holiday and will return to Pakistan on Saturday.

Now, it will be interesting to see the action of the Pakistan Cricket Board on the captain. It has been reported that Babar Azam will submit the report of the poor performance of Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2024 to the cricket board.
