‘It’s Going to Be Hectic’ – Rohit Sharma on Busy Schedule Ahead of Super 8s
Team India finished at the top of the Group A points table.
The Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma, made it clear from the start that the schedule for their Super 8 games would not be a reason for any underperformance, unlike some players from other teams who had expressed concerns about their schedules and travel arrangements.
Interestingly, Team India has yet to play any matches in the Caribbean, having completed all their group stage games in the USA. Now, they are set to face Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Australia in the Caribbean.
“There’s real keenness in the group to go and do something special. So, that’s a good way to start our second stage in the tournament. Clearly shows that everybody wants to make a difference, and obviously, we take our skill sessions quite seriously. There’s something to achieve in every session,”
“Once we play our first game, we’ll be playing the next 2 games in a span of 3-4 days. It’s going to be a little hectic, but again, we’re used to all of this. We travel a lot, we play a lot. So, that’s never going to be an excuse,” stated Rohit ahead of the Afghanistan match.
Team India remained unbeaten throughout the group stage of the 2024 T20 World Cup and now advances to the Super 8 stage. They aim to break their ICC trophy drought by winning the World Cup this time.
