Indian cricket fans had a mini heart attack after captain Rohit Sharma took a blow to the hand during a training session in New York on Friday. The incident occurred just days before their much-anticipated T20 World Cup 2024 clash against Pakistan at the Nassau County Cricket Stadium.
The seasoned cricketer, however, brushed off the injury and continued batting. It was his second injury with his previous injury scare during India’s opening match against Ireland. In that game, Rohit was forced to retire hurt after being struck on the arm, though he managed a crucial half-century before leaving the field.
The culprit behind both incidents seems to be the uneven bounce of the pitch at the Nassau County Stadium. Several players, including Rohit and teammate Rishabh Pant, have faced unexpected rising deliveries, raising concerns about player safety.
