Pakistan Team Cancels Meet & Greet With Fans After Shocking Defeat to USA
Pakistan suffered a super over defeat against USA in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024.
Pakistan’s T20 World Cup 2024 campaign got off to a disastrous start as they were trounced by the USA in a dramatic Super Over finish.
The shocking defeat has made the team cancel their meet and greet program, which was initially scheduled to take place on June 7.
Prior to the tournament, the Babar Azam-led team had been actively engaging with fans in the USA. This included private dinners and appearances at local events.
However, the mood has undoubtedly shifted following the upset loss, which has jeopardized their qualification for the Super 8 stage.
As criticism mounted over their performance, the team has been forced to cancel some of their planned activities in New York.
A pre-match gala dinner, originally intended to be a ticketed event where fans could interact with players, has been scrapped in the wake of the backlash.
The Men in Green have now travelled to New York, where they will face the archrivals India in their next encounter on Sunday, 9 June.
Pakistan has a dismal record against India when it comes to the T20 World Cup, having won just one game out of the seven meetings.
