The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled the 15-member squad for Team India ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024, slated to be co-hosted by West Indies and USA in June.
Rohit Sharma was appointed as the team captain, with Hardik Pandya named as vice-captain. Shivam Dube has been added as the designated finisher, while Rinku Singh misses out from the squad despite his strong performances.
The Uttar Pradesh batter has been named as part of the travelling reserve for the T20 World Cup 2024, alongside Khaleel Ahmed, Shubman Gill, and Avesh Khan.
Rinku Singh has accumulated 356 runs in 11 T20 innings for Team India at a strike rate of over 170. Meanwhile, for KKR, he has amassed 848 runs in 40 T20 IPL matches.
