The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to release the schedule of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season in phases due to the general elections. They have already released the first phase of the schedule.
Since then, there have been reports suggesting that the remaining matches of IPL 2024 could be moved out of India due to the clash with the general elections. However, IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal has confirmed that the tournament will continue in India.
Here’s what Arun Dhumal told IANS:
“We are working closely with the government agencies, as soon as the dates of general elections are announced, we will figure out the further plan & hopefully the 2nd phase of IPL will take place in India only, it’s not going anywhere else.”
Should the need arise for a venue change, the UAE and South Africa stand out as potential hosts for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season. However, the current arrangement firmly states that the tournament will occur solely in India.
