Team India has asserted their dominance over Australia in the ongoing second ODI at the Holkar Stadium in Indore on Sunday, September 24.
After putting to bat first, India put on a masterclass with centuries by Shubman Gill (104) and Shreyas Iyer (105), setting their highest-ever total against Australia in ODIs.
India wrapped up their batting innings at 399 runs in the allocated 50 overs. Besides Gill and Iyer, Captain KL Rahul demonstrated his exceptional form with a well-played half-century.
He started his innings aggressively, putting immense pressure on the Australian bowlers with breathtaking shots. However, it was one exceptional stroke that truly surprised everyone as he launched the ball sky-high.
During the 35th over, KL Rahul smashed a massive 94-metre six off Cameron Green’s delivery. The Australian all-rounder bowled a delivery in the slot, and the Indian captain seized the opportunity and clobbered it over deep mid-wicket, and that ball took a one-way trip out of the park.
While fans were over the moon after witnessing the gigantic six, Shubman Gill, who was present at the other end, could not help but enjoy the show.
