Sachin Dhas, whose remarkable innings of 95 runs off 96 balls in the semifinal against South Africa propelled India to victory, cementing their spot in the under-19 World Cup final, is an ardent fan of Virat Kohli.
In a recent PTI interview, Sachin Dhas’s father shared that while Sachin looks up to Virat Kohli, he himself has forever been enchanted by Sachin Tendulkar‘s cricketing prowess and elegance. As a tribute, he named his son ‘Sachin’ and ensured his jersey number would be 10.
“I named him after Sachin Tendulkar when he was born in 2005 because I was a huge fan but he also likes Virat Kohli a lot,” Sanjay Dhas told PTI.
Earlier, Sachin Dhas said that his father was a huge admirer of the batting great Sachin Tendulkar and decided that his son’s name would also be Sachin even before he was born.
Here’s what Sachin Dhas said:
“My father used to play cricket and is a huge fan of Sachin Tendulkar. So even before I was born, he had made up his mind that he would name his son ‘Sachin’ (smiles).”
