The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary, Jay Shah, has stated that the Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya is expected to be fit before the Afghanistan T20 series, scheduled to be played in January.
Hardik Pandya sustained an ankle injury in the 2023 World Cup match against Bangladesh while bowling. Following the incident, he withdrew from the remainder of the tournament and has been recuperating on the sidelines.
Here’s what Jay Shah told media on the sidelines of the WPL auction:
“Hardik Pandya could be fit for the Afghanistan T20 series in January. We are monitoring it on a day-to-day basis. He is at NCA only, he is working very hard and we will let you know in the due course the moment he is fit. He could be fit before the Afghanistan series also.”
The series against Afghanistan will kick off on January 11 and will go on till January 17.
