The young Indian batsman Shubman Gill, who smashed a brilliant half-century in his second Test match, is receiving praises from all around. Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik and former cricketer VVS Laxman congratulated Gill on his first international half-century. Apart from this, Indian all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja has also become compliant with Gill’s technique.
Gill scored 51 off 101 balls in the third Test match against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), which included eight fours. He shared a 70-run partnership for the first wicket with Rohit Sharma to give the team a strong start.
After the end of the second day’s play, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja said that Gill is technically very good and he has the temperament of playing long innings.
“He is technically very sound and has the temperament that he can play long innings. It is good if we can get a good start. Today we got 70 runs of partnership from Rohit and Shubman. So I think it is a good sign for us. As a youngster good luck to him. I hope we come good in the second innings as well,” said Ravindra Jadeja.
Dinesh Karthik also heaped high praises on the young Indian opener. Karthik took to Twitter and wrote:
“A star️ has arrived. Good start Gilly! You looked good the whole time. Don’t be too hard on yourself about the dismissal.”
Former Indian cricketer and legend VVS Laxman also praised Gill for his phenomenal performance in the third Test against Australia. He also took to Twitter and wrote:
“For someone playing only his 2nd test match @RealShubmanGill looks very assured at the wicket. Good solid defence, positive stroke play and clarity of thought. Definitely has a very bright future for India in all the 3 formats. #AUSvsIND.”
In his career, Shubman Gill has scored 130 runs at an average of 65 across three Test innings. He holds a staggering average of 69.11 at the first-class level.
