The Indian Women’s team is closing in on finalizing their new head coach just in time for their upcoming assignment against Bangladesh next month.
Among the potential candidates, former cricketers Amol Muzumdar and Tushar Arothe have emerged as the leading contenders to take over the role that was vacated by Ramesh Powar last year.
For the unversed, India Women’s team have been without a permanent head coach since the sacking of Ramesh Powar in December last year.
While Hrishikesh Kanitkar temporarily assumed the role of batting coach for the T20 World Cup earlier this year, the team is now set to appoint either Amol Muzumdar or Tushar Arothe as the new head coach in the near future.
In another major update, Ajit Agarkar, the former India pacer, who is currently affiliated with the IPL franchise Delhi Capitals, is the leading candidate to be appointed as the chief selector for the India men’s team.
